The first Geek Breakfast was held in Nashville, TN, USA in December 2007.

Geek Breakfast was created by Dave Delaney as a way to keep the community together between unconferences.

“BarCamp Nashville was a huge success,” Delaney explains. “We brought together geeks from the big publishing companies, health and music industries, students, professors, programmers and new media marketing professionals who’s paths would normally not cross.” Delaney continues, “After BarCamp we all went back to our jobs, the communication broke down. So Geek Breakfast was created to rekindle those relationships, create new ones, and to keep us connected.”

A request was made of Dave to create a wiki page, so that others could learn how to create their own local Geek Breakfasts. The rest is history.
